2022 LOLA Artisanal Series Calistoga Charbono

The 2022 LOLA Artisanal Series Calistoga Charbono comes from head-trained vines planted in the early 1940s on St. George rootstock. The wine is dark purple in color with aromas of plum, blackberry, violet, and tobacco — layered over a rich yet bright mouthfeel. Calistoga has some of the last Charbono vines planted in the world, as the varietal is considered endangered globally. This particular block, located off of Tubbs Lane, is one of the oldest grapevine plantings in the Napa Valley.
