2023 LOLA Artisanal Series Calistoga Petit Verdot

Grown on the historic Pocai Vineyard in Calistoga, family-farmed since 1906, the rocky alluvial soils yield intensely dark, rich fruit. Unlike in Bordeaux, where the grape often struggles to ripen, here it reaches full maturity, shedding its “little green” nickname and developing into small, sweet, powerful berries. The 2023 vintage brought a longer, cooler growing season, resulting in a brighter, more balanced expression of Petit Verdot—lively acidity paired with deep fruit concentration. The result: a structured yet supple wine with vivid blackberry, violet, leather, and graphite. A rare and bold 100% Petit Verdot.
