2023 LOLA Artisanal Series St. Helena Paseante Noir
Our Paseante Noir is from a vineyard block of less than 500 vines nestled on the banks of the Napa River, just a mile from our Zinfandel vineyard. Paseante Noir (a hybrid of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Vitis Arizonica) is an extraordinary grape, developed and bred by legendary UC Davis grapevine geneticist Dr. Andrew Walker that's resistant to Pierce's disease and perfectly suited to California's dry, Mediterranean climate.
In the glass, this wine is supple and round, bursting with deep fruit flavors, subtle herbal notes, and smooth, soft tannins that lead to a full, intense finish. Crafted without the use of oak, we aimed to showcase the pure essence of this rare grape varietal. With only 105 cases produced, those who enjoy a glass of the 2023 LOLA Paseante Noir will be among the few in the world to experience this one-of-a-kind wine. 110 cases produced.
