2023 LOLA Artisanal Series Yountville Rosé of Counoise
The LOLA Counoise is planted along the Napa River, just south of the town of Yountville. This obscure grape varietal, originally from the south of France, produces wines that are light and delicate, yet intensely fresh and fruity. When produced as Rosé, the wine becomes even lighter and fresher with a crisp and racy mouthfeel. The LOLA Artisanal Series Counoise Rosé is whole-cluster pressed. The unsettled juice, and a small amount of skins and stems, are fermented at cooler temperatures to preserve its freshness before the wine is aged for six months in stainless steel, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. The resulting wine shows beautiful aromas of rose petals, tart cherry, and raspberry with zesty acidity and crisp mouthfeel, leading to a clean, dry, and satisfying finish.
